Pictured here is a desperately disappointing curry we had in a restaurant in Sheffield that shall remain nameless. I am all for a bit of small talk with the staff, but the chef came to chat to us twice and tell us how much care is taken with the cooking.
That is never a good sign.
I can’t help be reminded of Prime Minister’s Questions, normally held on Wednesdays, which has become nothing more than a pantomime acted out by professional liars.
All the elements involved should provide a culinary delight of spices and textures, but the reality was just so an emulsion of apparent authenticity, accompanied by a promised amelioration that proves to be nothing but hot air.
